Some of the lessons learned in using OER materials:

• Students contribute to the course by making recommendations about lessons, including suggestions for modifying or deleting sections
• Some teachers may find the move to OER challenging and need support for adoption
• Sufficient bandwidth capabilities are critical to effectively incorporate OER
• Accessibility to devices for students is a key component
• Students need home and/or community access to the Internet
• OER analytic components, providing feedback to users on competency and areas of concern, would be beneficial
• Concerns regarding OER that disappears or is not kept up to date
• Development of effective OER in a timely manner
